If there is no cyber cell in your area then you can file a cyber crime complaint with the local police station in your area.

Section 154 of the Code of Criminal Procedure makes it mandatory for every police officer to file a complaint of an offense, regardless of the jurisdiction in which the offense is committed.

The portal is an initiative of the Government of India to make it easier for victims to report cybercrimes online.

You can report four categories of offenses under Offenses related to women and children.

  • Online Child Pornography (CP), Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
  • Rape/Gang Rape (CP/RGR) Sexually explicit content.
  • Publishing or Transmitting Sexually Obscene material in electronic form.
  • Publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit acts in electronic form.


Select the category to which you want to report the crime related and proceed to provide more details about the crime.

How to report cybercrime in India Offline?

To report cybercrime, locate your nearest cybercrime cell from your location.

Cybercrime comes under global jurisdiction, so you can file a Cybercrime complaint with any cyber cell set up in India, regardless of where the crime took place and where you live.

You can report to any cyber cell in India regardless of your location.

If you cannot reach any of the above cyber cells in India, you can file a complaint with your local police station regarding the cybercrime you have been a victim of.

If you do not have access to any cyber cell in India, you can file an FIR at the local police station.

If your complaint is not accepted there, you can approach the Commissioner or the Judicial Magistrate of the city.
